ERDINGER Dunkel A specialty for connoisseurs.

This wheat beer is at peace with itself. Strong, dark, and exceptionally harmonious.

The first sip reveals a blend of select dark wheat and barley malts. Their refined roasted aromas give this wheat beer its strong character. A lively carbonation caresses the tongue, while traditional ERDINGER yeast adds its top-fermenting touch. What makes this full-bodied specialty so wonderfully drinkable? It’s the balance of malt notes with their touch of sweetness and a pleasantly refreshing finish that lingers on the palate.

Lovers of bold flavors appreciate ERDINGER Dunkel as a true specialty. Bavarian maturation – for consummate enjoyment. Brewed according to the Bavarian Purity Law.

Best ingredients - uncompromising quality

ERDINGER Dunkel is a tailor-made gift from the brewmasters for owner Werner Brombach’s 50th birthday in 1989. The brewer was so taken with the mature, aromatic specialty that he launched it in 1990.

Important note for allergy sufferers: Our wheat beer specialties contain both barley and wheat malt !

Our spring water

Beer is 90 percent water! Our brewing water comes from two 160 meter-deep wells on the brewery’s own site.

Our malt

Malt gives the beer its body and color. Our experienced brewmasters select very special wheat and barley malts, as well as roasted barley malt, for our ERDINGER Dunkel.

Our hops

The soul of a beer. ERDINGER brewers rely on exquisite hop varieties that give our wheat beer a mild, aromatic bitterness.

Our yeast

Top-fermenting yeast provides the typical fruity aroma of wheat beer. ERDINGER brewing yeast is cultivated specifically in the brewery-it’s unique worldwide.
